Sundance Channel to launch in Spain

Sundance Channel Global is to launch on Spanish IPTV platform Movistar Imagenio, operated by Telefónica.

The launch will make Spain the ninth territory for the channel, which will also offer mobile authenticated streaming to Imagenio subscribers.

Sundance Channel Global, which offers a mix of independent films, documentaries and original programmes, will be available to Movistar Imagenio subscribers from June 1. The platform will also offer standard and HD versions of the service on-demand.

The carriage deal was announced today by Rainbow Media global senior vice-president, international distribution, Edward Palluth, and Telefónica’s audiovisual services manager, Ignacio Fernandez-Vega.
