UPC Netherlands to carry SBS catch-up, moves forward with upgrade

Commercial broadcaster SBS’s Dutch catch-up TV service, SBS Gemist, is expected to be made available to UPC Netherlands’ cable subscribers later this month, according to local reports.

Separately, UPC Netherlands has said it will launch interactive digital TV, internet and telephony services in the municipalities of Brummen, Liesveld, Lochem, Maasdriel, West Maas and Waal, Zaltbommel and Zederik by summer 2011, making the services available to an additional 60,000 homes. UPC is expected to complete the modernization of its network across the country by the end of next year.
