Disney may remain exclusive on Canal Plus

Disney Channel has opened fresh talks with pay-TV operator Canal Plus that could see it renew its existing exclusive distribution contract, which comes up for renewal in March, according to local reports.

The news follows earlier speculation that Disney could sign deals to be carried on the basic platforms of IPTV providers Free and Orange in order to broaden its reach.

Separately, football channel Onzéo, backed by nine clubs, which has until now been carried exclusively by CanalSat, is in discussion with other distributors, according to local reports. The channel, created four years ago, is expected to sign up six new clubs this month.
