German cable operators extend high-speed coverage

German cable operator Unitymedia has begun upgrading cable networks in the city of Kassel and the neighbouring town of Grebenstein in northern Hesse.

The Euro-DOCSIS 3.0-based upgrade will enable Unitymedia to offer internet speeds of up to 128Mbps to Kassel and Grebenstein residents.

The move is part of Kabel BW’s initiative to roll out high-speed internet in rural areas in the Baden-Württemberg region.
