Sky Deutschland launches 3D service

German pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland used the Medientage conference in Munich to launch its new 3D TV service, kicking off with the Fantastic Four concert in Halle at the end of September, to be followed by showings of the film Final Destination 4 and documentary The Seven Wonders of the Solar System.  Sky 3D will also offer coverage of the second round of the DFB Cup from October 26.

Separately, Liberty Global-owned Slovakian cable operator UPC Slovakia has announced the launch of its own 3D promotional service, offering trailers, concerts and special events. UPC Slovakia has also added dance music channel Fun 1 to its line-up.
