Polish authorities start mobile TV probe

Poland’s antitrust body is investigating the country’s largest mobile phone operators after they allegedly colluded to block mobile TV firm Info-TV-FM, according to local press. Info-TV-FM beat out competition from the country’s largest cellcos earlier this year to win a mobile TV license.

The Polish reports suggest that the companies Info-TV-FM beat subsequently refused to work with it. The four in question are Centertel, Polska Telefonica Cyfrowa, Polkomtel and Vodafone.

The antitrust office has it in its power to fine the companies a percentage of the previous year’s revenues if they are found to have breached the rules.
