Lebanese cable operator Cable Vision has struck a deal with Middle Eastern pay TV operator Orbit Showtime Network that will see a raft of its channels airing in the country.
â¨The move will see Orbit Showtime Network, which was formed by a merger between Orbit Communications and Showtime Arabia, provide channels including movie networks ShowMovies and Super Movies and entertainment channels including ShowSeries and America Plus, in Lebanon. â¨
The deal was ratified by the Lebanese Information Ministry and minister Tarek Mitri said this deal was the key to regulating the distribution of cable TV channels and prevent piracy. “We need to regulate this sector and issue laws. This is a new step forward toward regulation and legislation,” he said.
