France Telecom-owned Belgian telco Mobistar is to use capacity on the SES Astra satellites to deliver the satellite element of its hybrid digital TV platform, the launch of which was reported yesterday in DTVE Daily.
Mobistar will deliver linear and HD channels from the Astra satellites. The satellite TV offer, including Flemish national channels and a wide range of European free-to-air channels, will be integrated into a hybrid DSL/DTH platform, combining telephone and internet with TV and also including interactive services such as catch-up TV and video-on-demand.
