French broadcast group NRJ wants to launch a new female-oriented HD channel on the countrys digital-terrestrial platform, according to local reports.
Jean-Paul Baudecroux, CEO of NRJ Group, which airs the general entertainment channel NRJ12 on the digital-terrestrial platform, said that the group wanted to launch a second HD channel called ChÃ©rie HD, to be headed by Maryam Salehi, deputy director of the group, and NRJ12 executive FranÃ§oise Marchetti. He said that he wanted to compete on a more equal basis with TF1 and M6, which have four and three channels on DTT respectively.
