MTV Spain is launching as a free-to-air channel on the country’s digital terrestrial television service.
The Viacom-owned Spanish broadcaster will launch on the DTT service today, September 16, after striking a deal with Spanish media group and digital terrestrial operator Vocento. The music and youth lifestyle channel joins channels including Disney Channel and family entertainment channel La10 on the service.
MTV Spain will air series including The Hard Times of RJ Berger, 10 Things I Hate About You and Disney-distributed Cougar Town as well as its first local in-house production, Ahora o Nunca (Now or Never), which is a remake of Shine International-distributed format The Buried Life.
