Comstar-UTS may acquire Novosibirsk network

Russian service provider Comstar-UTS is preparing to acquire Novosibirsk-based cable TV and broadband provider Siberian Multiservice Networks, according to local press, citing sources close to the transaction.

The Novosibirsk operator, which operates under the CityHomeNet brand, has about 61,000 TV subscribers and 35,000 broadband customers, according to the reports. Comstar has previously announced that it plans to acquire or build networks in Russian cities with a population greater than 100,000.
