New channel launched for Spain

Spanish pay-TV group Sogecable has launched Canal Xtra, a new channel devoted to movies, music, documentaries and new entertainment formats, which will also be available in an HD version.

The channel, which will cater to minority interests, will feature a wide range of series and one-off programmes including Real Time With Bill Maher, Koolhaas Houselife, Later… With Jools Holland, Slavoj Zizek’s A Pervert’s Guide to Cinema and animated film Metropia.
