Polish DTT not expected until mid-2011

Digital terrestrial television is not expected to launch in Poland until mid-2011 at the earliest, despite recent deals by multiplex operator Emitel, according to local media consultant Andrzej Zarebski.

Polish transmission network provider Emitel won the contract to build the country’s new digital-terrestrial media network but the process of allocating licences and ordering digital transmitters is taking longer than expected.
