Arris signs Kabel Deutschland Edge QAM deal

Arris has announced that Kabel Deutschland has selected the D5 Universal Edge QAM to support M-CMTS, digital TV and VOD deployments. The two companies have also agreed to collaborate on advancing support for the DVB-C2 standard.

Arris said the D5 Universal Edge QAM will allow Kabel Deutschland to cost-effectively implement QAM sharing and that it will also reduce OPEX through network monitoring and management tools that allow the German cable operator to mix and match video services to the evolving needs of their subscribers
