TPSA to make multiplex sale decision soon

Polish telecom operator TPSA will make a decision whether to sell its mulitplex operator Emitel at the end of this month or early next month.

The telco has previously said that it would sell the company in the first half of 2011, however, it is expected to make a decision earlier. “We are studying what the firm is worth, how much we could sell it for and if it would pay to do so. I expect that by end September or early October we will have a decision to advance with this deal or not,” chief executive Maciej Witucki told investors. Emitel recently struck deals with local broadcasters TVN, Polsat, TV4 and TV Puls to operate a second digital multiplex in the country. This comes after it recently won the right to be the operator of the digital terrestrial platform.
