Sky Deutschland to support CI Plus

Pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland has announced its support for the CI Plus common interface standard at the IFA trade fair in Germany, enabling subscribers to view its pay-TV services via compatible integrated digital TVs without the need for a set-top box.

Sky’s move follows that of various cable operators including Kabel Deutschland. Sky said its HD services would be available via CI Plus modules, which would probably be available before Christmas.
