Opta to undertake new market analysis

Dutch communications regulator Opta has announced that it will undertake a new analysis of the country’s cable TV market, following the overturning of its previous analysis by the country’s business cases appeal court.

Opta’s previous analysis led to the forcing open of cable operators Ziggo and UPC’s analogue networks to competition, most notably from alternative telco Tele2, which launched a short-lived analogue resale offer.

Ziggo and UPC have said they will cooperate with the market analysis.
