UK local television consortium Six TV has become the latest company to add its name to the list of those complaining to regulator Ofcom about the BBC-led Project Canvas connected TV joint venture.
Six TV, which holds a number of local broadcast licences, has argued that Canvas will squeeze new entrants out of the local broadcasting market if it is allowed to go ahead. Cable operator Virgin Media and hybrid IP-based on-demand provider IP Vision have complained that Canvas will monopolise the online TV market.
