Swisscom’s TV business continues to grow

Swisscom nearly doubled the number of TV customers during the 12 months to the end of June, ending the first half of the year with a total of 317,000 subscribers. It added 85,000 TV customers during the first half of the year.

“The trend towards bundled offerings and new price models such as flat-rate tariffs continued in the Swiss business. 111,000 customers have already signed up for the Casa Trio bundled offering, which combines fixed-line telephony, internet and TV,” Swisscom said.

The telco ended June with a total of 1,790,000 broadband subscribers, compared with 1,800,000 a year earlier. Swisscom-owned Italian telco Fastweb ended the month with 1,694,000 broadband customers, up slightly from 1,575,000 a year earlier.
Fastweb’s net revenue increased year-on-year by CHF16m (€11.5m) or 1.7% to CHF935m during the first six months of the year.

Swisscom reported revenues of CHF1.3bn for its residential segment in the second quarter, up 1.7% year-on-year.
