SwisscomÂs TV business continues to grow
Swisscom nearly doubled the number of TV customers during the 12 months to the end of June, ending the first half of the year with a total of 317,000 subscribers. It added 85,000 TV customers during the first half of the year.
ÂThe trend towards bundled offerings and new price models such as flat-rate tariffs continued in the Swiss business. 111,000 customers have already signed up for the Casa Trio bundled offering, which combines fixed-line telephony, internet and TV, Swisscom said.
The telco ended June with a total of 1,790,000 broadband subscribers, compared with 1,800,000 a year earlier. Swisscom-owned Italian telco Fastweb ended the month with 1,694,000 broadband customers, up slightly from 1,575,000 a year earlier.
Fastweb’s net revenue increased year-on-year by CHF16m (Â11.5m) or 1.7% to CHF935m during the first six months of the year.
Swisscom reported revenues of CHF1.3bn for its residential segment in the second quarter, up 1.7% year-on-year.
