Sky set to sell Easynet

BSkyB has agreed to sell its business-to-business telco arm Easynet Global Services to a private equity company.

The UK pay-TV operator has reached an agreement with LDC, who will pay Sky £100m (€119m) for the business, subject to regulatory approval. Under the proposal, Sky will retain the UK network assets that it acquired as part of the original acquisition of Easynet Group in 2005. Sky and LDC will enter into a long-term supply agreement to grant Easynet continued access to Sky’s fibre network, which continues to support the Sky Broadband and Sky Talk services. Easynet will also continue to be a supplier to Sky.
