Comstar moves forward with migration from DOCSIS to FTTB

Russian service provider Comstar-UTS is upgrading its network in the city of Taganrog in southern Russia, where it has about 30,500 subscribers, to improve broadband services to its subscribers.

Comstar is migrating from a DOCSIS network to fibre-to-the-building technology, which Comstar says will enable the delivery of faster broadband speeds. The company is migrating a number of cities to FTTB in southern Russia, including, most recently, Krasnodar and Sochi.
