Eutelsat and Qatar chose SS/L for joint venture satellite

Eutelsat and Qatar government investment vehicle ictQATAR have chosen Space Systems/Loral to build a new satellite that the pair will jointly operate at the 25.5° East orbital slot.
The satellite, scheduled to enter service in 2013, will give enhanced Ku-band coverage across the Middle East, North Africa and central Asia.
