VimpelCom strikes deal with Nokia for Moscow DVB-H service

One of a diminishing number of operators still to have faith in the DVB-H mobile broadcast technology, Russia’s VimpelCom has announced that it will sell the Nokia 5330 DVB-H-enabled mobile phone in the Russian market under its Beeline brand.

VimpelCom and Nokia have jointly implemented an OMA BCAST DRM solution, enabling users to access mobile TV services. The Beeline mobile TV service will be available in the Moscow region. The service is currently available on a trial basis, with 13 channels.
