BT has signed a deal with Irish cable operator UPC, which will use the telcos network to support new high-speed broadband services.
Under the five-year multi-million Euro deal, six towns will be given access to upgraded UPC services through BTÂs new network. High-speed cable services will serve Sligo, Athlone, Mullingar, Portlaoise, Carlow and Newbridge. UPC plans to launch a 100Mbps broadband service in Ireland soon.
