Astra 3B operational

Satellite operator Astra has announced that Astra 3B is now fully operational.

The satellite, which launched from French Guiana on May 21, has been located at 23.5° East and is ready for commercial operations. It will deliver DTH services to the Benelux countries and eastern Europe as well as services to public and private satellite communication networks across Europe and the Middle East. Astra said it had already contracted a “significant proportion” of the capacity on 3B.
