Half of Danes can now view HDTV

Nearly half of Danish households – 1.25 million – can now view HDTV, according to a survey carried out by YouGov Zapera on behalf of cable operator YouSee.

Growth in HD households was boosted in the second half of 2009 by the switch-off of analogue services in November. In total, about 780,000 households acquired new TVs last year. YouSee’s cable customers have free access to HD services.

Of the 2.1 million households with HD-capable sets, 1.25 million have access to HD services, led by DR HD which reaches 83% of all viewers that have access to HD services.
