ProSieben inks VOD deal with Fox

German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 has inked a programming deal with Fox for its Maxdome video-on-demand service. It has secured a raft of movies from the studio including Avatar.

The agreement with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment starts this month and give ProSieben non-exclusive rights to new and library Fox features.
The deal means Maxdome has content agreements with all of the Hollywood studios as well as local producer/distributors Constantin and Kinowelt.

“Adding Fox to our portfolio allows us to maintain maxdome’s market leadership in Germany,” said Christoph Schneider, managing director of Maxdome.
Maxdome is a joint venture between ProSieben and United Internet and offers movies and TV series on a rental, subscription and download-to-own basis.
