KPN grows IPTV base, plans three-screen services

Over 150,000 homes in the Netherlands now take telco KPN’s IPTV service, the operator has revealed.

According to KPN, 30,000 new subscribers have signed up over the last six-week period. The telco plans to extend its IPTV offering into a three-screen service in the near future, with live TV available via mobile phones and PCs.

According to a survey from TNO Research commissioned by KPN, the average Dutch TV viewer spends between 2.5 and three hours in front of the TV, with major broadcasters NPO, RTL and SBS accounting for over 80% of viewing time.
