Iliad reaches 4.5 million broadband subs

French broadband provider Iliad/Free ended March with 4.5 million ADSL subscribers across its Free and Alice brands, after adding 48,000 customers during the first quarter.

Of the total subscriber base, 3,866,000 customers took services under the Free brand at the end of March, up 88,000 quarter-on-quarter. The company had 40,000 fewer Alice customers at the end of March, giving it a total of 638,000 subs.

The migration of Alice subscribers to the Free network, as well as the continuing extension of local loop unbundling, enabled the ISP to further improve its unbundled rate to over 87% at 31 March.

Iliad/Free reported consolidated broadband revenues of €500.9m for the first quarter, up 4.9% year-on-year.
