German cable operator Unitymedia has launched a new HD service.
The operator is offering a HD DVR, which can record up to 150 hours of programming, for 5 per month when taken under a 24 month contract. The first three months are offered at half price to customers signing up by the end of the month. Customers must also pay an activation fee of Â19.95. Unitymedia has five HD channels available from launch  Das Erste HD, ZDF HD, Arte HD, ServusTV HD and Sky Sports HD.
The operator has selected Ruwido to provide remote controls for the new HD set-top box.
