Russian service provider Comstar-UTS has begun upgrading its network in the city of Novokuznetsk in west-central Siberia.
Comstar is building a fibre-to-the-building network in the central part of Novokuznetsk, where a number of operators are currently providing services. Comstar plans to convert existing cable TV subscribers to FTTB, while targeting about 50% of existing DOCSIS-based internet customers to be converted to its Ethernet-based system.
