KDG grows new services base

German cable operator Kabel Deutschland (KDG) added new subscribers to digital pay-TV, broadband and telephony services, but continued to suffer a small overall decline in basic cable customers up to March 31.

KDG’s RGU base grew by 3.6% year-on-year to 12.048 million, with internet and telephony subscribers increasing by 39.2% to 1.9735 million (including 966,000 internet customers and 1.0075 million phone customers). Pay-TV subscribers reached 1.0732 million, up by 11.5% year-on-year. Each KDG customer now takes an average of 1.35 services, up from 1.27.

KDG’s overall customer base, however, fell by 2.4% to 8.901 million.
