Satellite operator SES Astra has announced plans to launch Europes first 3D TV demo channel.
The channel will be available free-to-air from May 4 and will initially target retailers and installers. It will broadcast from the operatorÂs 23.5° East orbital position, featuring 3D content covering sports, music and entertainment.
ÂThe new Astra 3D demo channel demonstrates the huge advantages of satellite for the transmission of high quality 3D TV signals, said Ferdinand Kayser, president and CEO of SES Astra.
