Icasa calls for mobile licence applications

South Africa’s Independent Communications Authority (Icasa) has given interested parties three weeks to submit applications for digital mobile TV licences.

The first multiplex for mobile TV will be licensed during the financial year ending March 2011. Icasa said that to ensure competition and diversity no applicant will be allowed to control more than 60% of the multiplex.
