Cablecom demos live 3D TV

Swiss cable operator Cablecom aired the country’s first live 3D TV event yesterday.

The Liberty Global-owned operator broadcast the final day of the US Masters golf tournament in 3D as part of a showcase event in cooperation with UPC Netherlands and broadcast services provider Digital Media Centre. “Thanks to continuous investment into the infrastructure, Cablecom’s Fiber Power network is ready for this revolutionary television experience. Cablecom customers are ready to receive 3D television either via Cablecom Mediabox or DigiCard, which is based on the CI Plus technology,” Cablecom said in a statement.
