Prisa selling on soccer rights
Spanish media company Prisa is auctioning certain TV rights to the upcoming soccer World Cup in South Africa. Prisa-backed pay-TV platform Digital Plus will broadcast matches from the tournament, but some games also have to be broadcast free-to-air.
Prisa previously owned free-to-air broadcaster Cuatro, but has sold a majority interest to Mediaset-backed Telecinco last year in a drive to pay down debt.
