UPC Ireland close to acquiring Broadworks

Irish cable operator UPC Ireland is close to finalising a deal to acquire rival cable operator Broadworks’ assets.

Broadworks, which is owned by Irish investment firm BWC Investments, has around 6,000 subscribers in Dublin, but has been struggling financially for a number of months and is set to be wound up at the end of March. UPC hopes to close the deal by the end of the month.
