Broadcasting Authority of Ireland losing patience with DTT

The chairman of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) has expressed his frustration in delays over the launch of commercial DTT services in the country.

The One Vision consortium, led by telco Eircom, was offered the commercial contract for DTT last May after Boxer withdrew plans to invest €165m in the project. Negotiations between One Vision and broadcaster RTE, which will run the public service side of DTT, have stalled, leading BAI chairman Bob Collins to say that the authority’s board has “very little patience” left.
