Sky Deutschland secures deal for Luxembourg distribution

News Corp-owned German pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland has struck an agreement with Luxembourg telco P&T Luxembourg to offer its services on the latter’s IPTV platform. Sky Deutschland’s pay-TV packages will also be offered via P&T-backed cable operator Eltrona.

The exclusive deal means that the German pay-TV service will be marketed to about 180,000 Luxembourg homes under the Sky brand for the first time.

P&T Luxembourg offers about 200 TV channels in 12 multilingual packages to homes via IPTV. About 170 channels are offered via the Imagine brand jointly by Eltrona and Nokia Siemens Networks, with about 100,000 households taking the service.
