The UK Competition Commission has approved the sale of social networking site Friends Reunited by commercial broadcaster ITV.
Approval of the £25m (28.6m) sale of Friends Reunited to Scottish genealogy site operator Brightsolid follows a three-month investigation after the matter was referred to the commission by the Office of Fair Trading in November. ITV originally paid £170m for the site in 2005.
