Telekom Austria chooses Edgeware servers

Server specialists Edgeware has announced that Telekom Austria is deploying its video servers to enhance its aonTV IPTV service, which serves nearly 100,000 subs.

As part of its new IPTV platform delivered by Ericsson, Telekom Austria is deploying purpose-built appliances from Edgeware to deliver its on-demand TV and video content. Edgeware said that by caching content closer to users, popular on-demand services can continue to grow without the need for continual and costly upgrades to the network.
