Latvia DTT goes nationwide

Latvian telco Lattelecom has begun offering digital-terrestrial TV over the whole of the country’s territory.

The operator is making pay-TV services available as well as Latvia’s free-to-air channels. Pay services are available via pre-paid cards without the need for a contract.

Digital-terrestrial TV has previously been available in the Riga area. According to Lattelecom, about 50,000 households take the service, including about 21,000 who have taken the pay services.

Lattelecom is offering a ‘start package’ including decoder and 30-day access to pay channels for LVL44.50 (€62.80).
Free-to-air channel LTV7 will switch off analogue services nationwide on March 1, followed by LTV1 and LNT in Riga on April 1 and nationwide on June 1.
