One in six Danes between 20 and 65 years of age regularly download films from the web or get homemade copies illegally, according to a survey carried out for Danish cable operator YouSee by YouGov Zapera.
According to the survey, Danes consume between eight and 12 million illegal copies of films a year, equivalent to about a quarter of the commercial market for cinema ticket sales and DVD rentals. The value of the illegal market was estimated to be between DKK0.25bn (33.6bn) and DKK0.5bn a year.
The survey found that about 24% of 20-29 year olds regularly downloaded movies illegally.
