Polish DTH operator Cyfrowy Polsat ended 2009 with 3.2 million subscribers.
The operator, which claims to be Europes fourth-largest DTH platform behind the UKÂs BSkyB, FranceÂs CanalSat and Sky Italia, added 286,000 subs during the fourth quarter, taking its base to over three million. It attracted a total of 476,000 subs during the year.
An additional 700,000 customers received free-to-air channels via a Polsat decoder, which also gives them access to the operatorÂs VOD service. This means that 28% of Polish households now have a Polsat set-top.
ÂBoth the entire fourth quarter and December, which saw increased subscriber base of 200,000, are among the best in our history, said president Dominik Libicki.
