Latvian telco Lattelecom ended 2009 with 55,000 pay-TV subscribers, according to local reports.
The majority of customers, a total of 43,000, subscribed to its IPTV service Lattelecom Interactive TV, which offers on-demand films and series including HD content. The remaining customers subscribed to the telcos pay-DTT service Virszemes Televîziju, which launched last August. It offers two pay-TV packages with 11 and 30 channels respectively, for LVL3.50 (Â5) and LVL6.90 a month. Lattelecom said it planned to significantly increase the number of TV subscribers this year.
The telco has also revealed that its fibre-to-the-home network now reaches 100,000 households, just over 10% of the countryÂs total. The service launched one year ago.
