Kudelski acquires Medialive

Switzerland-based TV technology group Kudelski has acquired Medialive, a company based in Paris that develops and licenses content protection and marking technologies for distribution over broadcast, internet, and mobile distribution networks and devices.

Kudelski said it would combine Medialive’s encryption and watermarking technology with its own strengths in conditional access.

“With the inclusion of Medialive technology in our systems, we will be able to further extend our security solutions offering to protect pay–TV operators,” said Yves Pitton, senior vice-president corporate development of the Kudelski Group.
