Universal Channel launches in Turkey on D-Smart

Universal Channel has launched in Turkey on the D-Smart pay-TV platform.

The channel, which carries movies from studios including Universal, Fox and CBS Paramount, and NBC series including 30 Rock, House, Law & Order, The Office and Monk, has launched in a number of markets including the UK, France, Portugal, Balkans, Russia, Romania, Poland, Japan, and Hong Kong over the past 18 months.

Overall, Universal Networks International has grown its international channels presence from 14 in 2007, when it acquired Sparrowhawk Entertainment, to 70 today.
