The Modern Times Group (MTG) and media company Sanoma have joined forces and will launch a premium sports channel in Finland.
Sanomas Nelonen Media and MTG-owned Viasat will provide content for the channel, which will be called Nelonen Sport Pro and launch in February 2010.
Sports coverage will include the local soccer league as well as matches from the UK, France and Champions League competition. There will also be US and local ice hockey, Moto GP racing and ATP Masters tennis. Sanoma will own the sports channel and it will be carried on MTGÂs Viasat pay-TV service.
