Mid Europa moves to acquire remainder of Invitel

Investment group Mid Europa Partners has placed a tender offer to purchase the publicly-floated minority stake in Hungarian service provider Invitel.

Mid Europa is offering US$4.50 (€3) for each Invitel share that it does not already own, representing a premium of about 27%.

Mid Europa, whose interests in central and eastern Europe include Serbian pay-TV provider SBB and Slovenian cable operator Telemach, currently owns approximately 74.4% of Invitel, which it recently acquired from Danish telco TDC.
