Discovery Networks International boss Greg Ricca is leaving the company and will be replaced by chief operating officer Mark Hollinger who will become president and CEO.
Discovery said Ricca will leave after an unspecified period of transitionÂ. He joined Discovery in 2007 having previously worked at Viacom for two decades and been COO of MTV between 1996 and 2003. Ricca did not say what his future career plans are.
A new COO will be recruited to replace Hollinger. He has been at Discovery since 1991 and has served in various roles including general manager of Discovery Channel Asia where he oversaw the launch of the factual channel in the region.
